To ensure that relatives living abroad can enjoy the taste of Diwali Faral, the Department of Posts is geared up this year too to deliver it to them. On the occasion of Diwali, the Pune Postal Region has undertaken an innovative initiative, making available the facility of “packing Faral items at a nominal cost after submission and sending them abroad at affordable rates.”
For citizens who have prepared their Diwali Faral but cannot find the time to visit the post office due to their busy daily schedules, a doorstep collection facility has been arranged. Under this service, the postman will visit homes to collect Faral parcels free of cost.
A large number of people from Pune move abroad for jobs and education. Since it is not possible for everyone living abroad to return to India and Pune for the festival, the Pune Postal Region has taken on the responsibility of delivering these parcels worldwide, helping to double the joy of Diwali by sending Faral items and gift articles to loved ones.
All post offices in the city offer the facility to send Diwali Faral abroad, along with on-site packing services. Last year, the Department of Posts set a record by sending 21,000 kg of Faral from Pune to loved ones abroad in time for Diwali. Additionally, festive gifts can also be sent through this parcel service.
Special packaging equipment has been installed at the G.P.O. (Pune City Head Post Office), Chinchwad East, Market Yard, Parvati, and other major post offices in Pune. This ensures that Faral and gifts are securely packed within minutes and promptly dispatched abroad.
Today, on October 15, 2026, the new booking counter at APTMO PUNE, located at the Cargo Terminal of the Pune Airport premises, was inaugurated by Mrs. Preeti Agrawal, Postmaster General, Pune Region, and Shri Abhijeet Bansode, Director of Postal Services. The counter will remain open from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM and will also function on Sundays and holidays.
Postmaster General Mrs. Preeti Agrawal and Director of Postal Services Shri Abhijeet Bansode have appealed to the citizens of Pune to make maximum use of this service to send Diwali Faral to their relatives and friends. For free pickup service from now until Diwali, Punekars can contact 7028007223 and 8421372317 between 9:00 AM and 7:00 PM.
