The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) operationalised a new state-of-the-art Aadhaar Seva Kendra (ASK) in Theni today, marking another step towards expanding resident-centric delivery mechanisms across Tamil Nadu.

The facility was formally inaugurated by Thiru V. Sivakrishnamurthy, District Collector of Theni, as Chief Guest, alongside officials from UIDAI Regional Office Bengaluru and operational partners M/s BLS International. During the inauguration, the District Collector reviewed the operational infrastructure, interacted with visiting residents, and inspected the enrolment and update procedures being extended at the centre.

Equipped with four operational counters, the new ASK provides single-window delivery for fresh Aadhaar enrolments, demographic and biometric updates, and regional grievance redressal. The ASK is functional on all days except public holidays.

With the operationalisation of the Theni centre, UIDAI now runs 20 Aadhaar Seva Kendras across Tamil Nadu, with plans to open 10 more facilities in the coming days to bring the total state network to 30. Residents can access online appointment bookings for services through the official UIDAI appointment portal.
