The 5th Graduation Day Ceremony of ESIC Medical College & Hospital, K.K. Nagar, Chennai, was held today at the institution's auditorium. Shri Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, Governor of Tamil Nadu & Keralam, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and awarded certificates and medals to 125 graduating MBBS students of the 2020–21 batch.
During the ceremony, the Governor launched “Book Bridge,” a new best-practice initiative under Vidhyadhanam, presenting NEET preparation books to Ms. V. Aji, daughter of an Insured Person, to support her higher educational aspirations. He also inaugurated advanced hospital facilities—including a Burns Ward, High Dependency Unit (HDU), Medical Gastroenterology Ward, and a Surgical Skills Laboratory—to strengthen medical training and healthcare delivery under the Employees’ State Insurance Scheme.

Addressing the graduates, the Governor urged young doctors to direct their expertise toward societal welfare, particularly by extending quality healthcare to remote and underserved populations. Emphasizing a balanced appreciation for traditional systems alongside modern medicine, he encouraged the medical professionals to cultivate excellence with deep human compassion.
Dr. Swapnathai A. Meshram, Dean of ESIC Medical College & Hospital, administered the Hippocratic Oath to the graduating batch, marking their formal entry into the medical profession.
