Enforcement Section of the Town Services Department of SAIL, Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP), cleared approximately 13,000 square feet of encroached land during an anti-encroachment drive at Panthi Chowk, Sector-10. The drive involved the removal of unauthorised roadside encroachments with the assistance of a JCB machine.

According to the plant management, unauthorised roadside stalls, kiosks and makeshift vending structures obstruct the smooth flow of traffic and impede the orderly use of public spaces. The enforcement drive was undertaken to address these concerns and clear the affected area of unauthorised occupation.

The Town Services Department has stated that action against unauthorised occupation of public and restricted areas will continue. The department has also outlined plans for strict action against violations in accordance with applicable rules and regulations.

The Bhilai Steel Plant management has appealed to citizens and street vendors not to set up unauthorised stalls, kiosks or makeshift vending structures along roadsides or in restricted areas. It has urged them to comply with prescribed regulations and extend their cooperation in maintaining encroachment-free public spaces and ensuring smoother traffic movement.
