Ministry of Coal holds Special Drive with focus on E-waste Management as part of Special Campaign 6

In accordance with the guidelines of the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) regarding Special Campaign 6, Ministry of Coal has held a special drive with focus on E-Waste Management across all the coalfield offices on 6th October, 2026. 2152 employees across 74 field offices participated in this special drive.
A one-day workshop on “E-Waste Management” chaired by Joint Secretary Shri Sanjeev Kumar Kassi, was held at the Ministry of Coal (MoC) Conference Room in hybrid mode. Ms. Riya Soni, Scientist-B, CPCB, MoEFCC, made a presentation on e-waste management, covering key aspects of responsible e-waste handling and management.
The workshop aimed to sensitize officials of the Ministry of Coal and its Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) on the critical need for systematic segregation and proper disposal of electronic waste (e-waste).
This workshop was attended by Senior officials from the Ministry who attended the workshop in person, while officials from Coal India Limited (CIL) and its subsidiaries, NLC India Limited (NLCIL), Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL), Coal Controller’s Organisation (CCO), and the Coal Mines Provident Fund Organisation (CMPFO) participated virtually.
Quiz Competition at CCO:
The Coal Controller's Organization (CCO) office in Delhi organized a quiz competition on the theme of 'E-Waste Management.
E-Waste Kiosk:
In line with the overarching theme of Special Campaign 6, E-Waste Collection Workstations (E-Waste Kiosk) to facilitate systematic collection, segregation, and responsible disposal of electronic waste at the ground level were held at various field offices.
