Shimla.The National Statistics Office (NSO) Field Operations Division (FOD), working under the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, Government of India is engaged in conducting large scale sample surveys for collecting statistical information from households and establishments throughout the country on various Socio- Economic aspects since 1950. Data generated from these surveys is used by Central and State Governments for formulation of development policies and programmes.

During the month of October, 2026, NSO, FOD will be conducting fieldwork of various surveys namely, Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS), Annual Survey of Unincorporated Sector Enterprises (ASUSE), National Household Income Survey (NHIS), Consumer Price Index (CPI) Survey, All India Debt and Investment Survey (AIDIS), Situation Assessment Survey (SAS), Migration Particulars Survey (MPS) and Annual Survey of Incorporated Service Sector Enterprises (ASISSE).

The field work of these surveys will be conducted by trained officials from National Statistics Office who will collect information from selected households and establishments using secure digital devices and authorized web portals. All information collected from these surveys is kept strictly confidential and is used for statistical purposes. The identity of selected households and establishments covered under the surveys is not disclosed in any report or published statistics.

The Government of India appeals to all the selected households and establishments to provide accurate and complete information and extend necessary cooperation to the survey officials. Public cooperation will make an important contribution towards generating reliable statistics for the country and better policy formulation for overall national development.

The office will be conducting the surveys as per the list attached in the month of October, 2026.

National Household Income Survey: Khaniur Narmela (Rajgarh), Nigulsari (Kinnaur) and Sunni Urban.

Survey on Migration: Tandiora (Nauradhar), Nigulsari (Kinnaur) Solan and Shimla Urban.

All India Debt and Investment Survey: Shimla Urban.

Situation Assessment of Agricultural Households: Yangpa (Kinnaur), Kanda (Rohru) and Misserwala (Paonta Sahib).

Annual Survey of Unincorporated Sector Enterprises: Makarchha (Sunni), Badripur (Paonta Sahib), Jabal

Jabloo (Darlaghat), Jangal Dhar Kacchamba (Baddi), Kamru (Kinnaur), Dakhai (Kinnaur), Bai

(Kumarsein), Kotla Namhola (Darlaghat), Jamnighat (Paonta Sahib), Chukhar Dhangiar (Pacchad) and

Shimla Urban.

Periodic Labour Force Survey: Khalanti (Solan), Neri Navan (Pacchad), Kothi (Sunni), Baddi, Paonta

Sahib and Jubbal Urban.

Crop Cutting Experiments Inspections under Agricultural Survey: Shimla, Solan and Sirmour Districts.

Price Data Collection: Kaza, Kilba, Rampur, Shimla Urban and Rural, Garkhal, Bather, Nalagarh and

Paonta Sahib Urban.

Urban Frame Survey: Baddi Town.
