The Central Power Research Institute, Bengaluru organized the Swachhata Divas 2026 on 02.10.2026, as a culmination of the Swachhata hi Seva 2026 observed during 17.09.2026 to 02.20.2016 in association with RMV residents welfare association and Poojari layout residents welfare association members at Ashwath Nagar.

Shri. Lehar Singh Siroya, Hon'ble MP, Rajya Sabha, was the Chief Guest of the function, Smt. Sumangala, Ex Ward Councilor, graced the function as Guest of Honour and Dr. J. Sreedevi, Director General presided over the function. Other dignitaries on the dias included Dr. Mallikarjun Rao, Director, CPRI, Shri. Suryanarayana. K, Joint Director, CPRI, Shri. K.V.Raju, President, Poojari Layout RWA, Shri. Shivanna, Social worker, Shri. Keshavamurthy, Social Worker and Shri. S.M.Krishna, Secretary, Poojary Layout RWA.

The highlights of the various activities undertaken by CPRI as a part of observance of Swachhata hi Seva 2026 were highlighted by Shri. Suryanarayana.K, Joint Director, CPRI, under the main pillar themes, Transformation of tus & Clean Public places, Swachh paatshala - yuva for Swacchata, Safai Mitras suraksha Seva evam samman shibir, Jan Bhaagidhari.

The Chief Guest, Shri. Lahar Singh Siroya, Hon'ble MP, Rajya Sabha, in his speech highlighted the importance of participation of public in these campaigns. He also stressed that the Swacchatha should not only be limited to physical cleanliness, and is to be extended to moral ethics to eradicate corruption and other immoral activities. He expressed happiness about the enthusiastic participation by school children in Swacchatha activities during the campaign, emphasising the importance keeping in view the future growth of the country and its importance in achieving the dream of the Hon'ble Prime Minister of a 'Swachh Bharat '.

Smt. Sumangala in her speech appreciated the various Swacchatha activities undertaken by CPRI, highlighted the support and participation of Hon'ble MLA Dr. Ashwath Narayana in all Swacchatha acti, and appreciated the services rendered by Safai Mitras.

Dr. J. Sreedevi, in her address highlighted the importance of such abhiyans in making clean cities, and highlighted the association of CPRI with various RWAs during Swacchatha campaigns. She also presented the various salient works on CTUs adopted by CPRI, such as renovation of toilets at Vidyaranyapura, Bengaluru, etc. The Safai Mitras from BBMP as well as CPRI were felicitated and distributed with Swacchatha kits by the Chief Guest and other dignitaries.
