Legislative Department and Department of Legal Affairs Jointly Organized a Shramdaan Event under the Swachhatta Hi Seva Campaign, 2026.

On the occasion of Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign 2026, the Legislative Department and Department of Legal Affairs, Ministry of Law and Justice, jointly organized a Shramdaan Event at the Safdarjung Tomb, New Delhi, on 1st October, 2026. The event was organized with the objective of promoting cleanliness, hygiene and civic responsibility, and spreading the message that cleanliness is a collective responsibility and an essential part of a healthy and progressive society with the theme of Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath.

The event of sharmdaan was led by Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, Hon’ble Minister of State (I/c) along with Dr Rajiv Mani, Secretary, Shri Chetan Sharma, ASG and other senior officers of the Legislative Department and Department of Legal Affairs including its attached offices i.e. Vidhi Sahitya Prakashan and Official Language Wing and advocates of Supreme Court and High Court, New Delhi.

 On the occasion, Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, Hon’ble Minister of State (I/c) distributed Swachhata Kit to the Safai Karamchari and emphasized upon the importance of the Campaign, the overall benefit of the society and the nation. During the event, he actively participated in the Shramdaan and interacted with the officials and sanitation workers present at the site.

The Hon’ble Minister emphasized the significance of the Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign and the importance of maintaining cleanliness not only in government offices and public places but also in our homes and communities. He called upon all officials and employees to adopt cleanliness and hygiene as a regular habit and to contribute actively towards creating a cleaner, healthier and more sustainable environment. He also highlighted the significance of the International Day of older person which also falls on the 1st October and recognizes their valuable experience and guidance in inspiring the younger generation towards cleanliness and a better nation.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from officers and staff of both Departments. The Shramdaan activity at the Safdarjung Tomb served as a meaningful effort to reinforce the spirit of “Swachhata Hi Seva” and encouraged everyone to contribute towards cleanliness through individual as well as collective efforts.
