Department of Health Research to participate in Special Campaign 6 from 2nd to 31st October 2026 to promote Swachhata and reduce pendency
Campaign to be implemented across DHR, ICMR Headquarters and its 27 Institutes across the country

Reaffirming its commitment to Swachhata, the Department of Health Research (DHR) will undertake Special Campaign 6 from 2nd to 31st October, 2026. The Campaign will focus on institutionalising cleanliness, reducing pendency, improving record management and promoting the efficient utilisation of office resources across DHR, ICMR Headquarters and its 27 Institutes across the country.
As part of the ongoing Preparatory Phase from 15th to 30th September, 2026, the Department has completed the preliminary exercise for identifying suitable locations for cleanliness drives, assessing requirements for space management and beautification of office premises, identifying scrap and redundant items for disposal in accordance with the applicable provisions and identifying pending references.
The Department has also undertaken a review of its record management practices, including identification of files and records due for reviewing and weeding, as well as e-files requiring closure, in accordance with the prescribed procedures.
With the preparatory exercise providing a clear roadmap for focused interventions, the Department is gearing up for the Implementation Phase of Special Campaign 6 from 2nd to 31st October, 2026. During the Campaign period, the identified targets will be taken up in a time-bound manner, with emphasis on cleanliness and space management, disposal of e-waste and redundant items, liquidation of identified pendency, simplification of processes and strengthening of record management.
The progress of the Campaign will be regularly monitored by the Nodal Officer to ensure timely implementation of the identified activities and achievement of the Campaign objectives.
