Department of Food and Public Distribution Undertakes Nationwide Shramdaan under ‘Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath’ Initiative
Cleanliness drives organised across the country as part of Swachhata Hi Seva 2026

The Department of Food and Public Distribution (DFPD), Government of India, along with its PSUs, attached and subordinate offices, participated in the nationwide cleanliness initiative ‘Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath’ on October 1, 2026, at 8:00 AM. The initiative was undertaken as part of the Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 campaign across various locations in the country.
The DFPD organised a cleanliness drive at the outer premises of Hanuman Mandir, Baba Kharak Singh Marg, New Delhi. Officials and employees of the Department enthusiastically participated in the one-hour Shramdaan. The initiative aimed at promoting cleanliness, improving sanitation and creating awareness among citizens about hygiene and responsible waste disposal. Through collective participation, the Department reaffirmed its commitment towards a cleaner, healthier and garbage-free India.
Besides DFPD, various PSUs and attached/subordinate offices of the Department also undertook cleanliness activities at multiple locations across the country.





The Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC) demonstrated its unwavering commitment to community welfare by actively participating in the national cleanliness drive – “Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath – Shramdaan at Siri Fort Sports Complex and MCD Parking, August Kranti Marg, opposite NFDC, New Delhi where a highly motivated team came together with energy, enthusiasm, and true team spirit to devote one hour towards cleaning and beautifying the public spaces. This impactful effort reflects their shared vision of a cleaner, healthier, and more responsible India. Through collective action and civic pride, they continue to support the mission of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.


The Food Corporation of India (FCI) conducted special cleanliness drives across its Headquarters, Regional and District offices throughout the country. Senior officials and staff actively participated in the campaign. As part of the ‘Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath’ initiative, a rally was also organised to the nearest Central Park in Connaught Place, New Delhi, to promote awareness about cleanliness and civic responsibility.



The Indian Grain Management and Research Institute (IGMRI) organised cleanliness drives at Hyderabad and Ludhiana, with active participation of its officials and staff.
Collective Shramdaan activity was performed by Quality Control Cells of DFPD by organizing cleanliness drives at Bhubaneshwar, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkatta, Guwahati, Patna, Pune, Lucknow, Bhopal and Hyderabad
Warehousing Development Regulatory Authority (WDRA) organized a cleanliness drive on the footpath outside the office area.
National Sugar Institute (NSI), Kanpur also organized a cleanliness drive in the office complex.
