Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) will celebrate its 27th Foundation Day on October 1, 2026, marking 26 years since its establishment in 2000. Over the years, BSNL has been providing telecommunications services across the country and has witnessed the transition from traditional landline networks to mobile, broadband and other digital communication technologies.

As a 100 per cent Government of India-owned Central Public Sector Undertaking under the Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Communications, BSNL provides mobile, Bharat Fiber FTTH broadband, fixed-line and enterprise services. The organisation has also been associated with the expansion of telecom infrastructure in rural, remote and strategically important areas and with the implementation of national initiatives such as BharatNet.

In the Vidarbha region, the BSNL Nagpur Business Area has undertaken expansion and upgradation of its telecom infrastructure, including optical fibre deployment and Bharat Fiber services. The network covers Nagpur and adjoining areas, including industrial locations such as Butibori and Hingna, besides serving government offices, educational institutions, hospitals and other establishments.

On the occasion of the Foundation Day, Principal General Manager, BSNL Nagpur Business Area, Smt. Namratta Tiwari, extended her greetings to the employees and stakeholders of the organisation. She noted that BSNL’s ongoing network expansion, including the rollout of 4G services, is part of its continued efforts to meet the changing communication requirements of users.
