A New Start Through Recovery and Family Support

Bihar Youth Rajveer’s Journey

Posted On: 23 SEP 2026 5:41PM by PIB Delhi

The substance use profoundly affect a person’s well-being, relationships and daily life. With timely treatment and continued family support, recovery from substance use can help a person regain stability and take steps towards a healthier future.

Rajveer (name changed), a 28-year-old graduate from Darbhanga district, Bihar, received treatment and rehabilitation support at ROSHANI IRCA after substance use affected his behaviour, emotional well-being and family life. He now lives with his family and has started a small business with their support.

Concerned by changes in his behaviour and emotional state, Rajveer’s father brought him to the Centre on 8 March 2026. Rajveer was initially irritable and found it difficult to adjust to the treatment environment. His family remained supportive while he began receiving professional care.

At ROSHANI IRCA, Rajveer received medical detoxification, regular medication, individual counselling, group therapy, re-educative sessions and yoga activities. The centre also provided family counselling, home visits and follow-up support. As treatment progressed, he began sharing his concerns more openly during counselling sessions.

His family observed positive changes in his behaviour. Rajveer became more engaged in daily activities and, with their help, started a small business. Awareness programmes and continued intervention by the centre also supported his family through the recovery process.

Today, Rajveer is living with his family and working towards a healthy, substance-free life. His experience shows how treatment, counselling and family involvement can support recovery and help someone rebuild daily routines and livelihood.
