The India Digital ADR Summit2026 was inaugurated at the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), Gandhinagar, with eminent judicial and legal dignitaries gracing the occasion on 12th September, 2026. Honble Mr. Justice N. V. Anjaria, Judge, Supreme Court of India, presided over the inaugural ceremony as Chief Guest. He also launched 'SAMYAK' portal, a digitial initiative of International Digital Dispute Resolution Centre (IDDRC) at the NFSU Gandhinagar Campus.

The Summit witnessed the presence of Shri R. Venkatramani, Attorney General for India; Hon’ble Ms. Justice Sunita Agarwal, Chief Justice, High Court of Gujarat; Hon’ble Mr. Justice M. R. Shah, Former Judge, Supreme Court of India; and Hon’ble Mr. Justice Rajesh Bindal, Former Judge, Supreme Court of India on the dais.

Hon’ble Mr. Justice N. V. Anjaria, Judge, Supreme Court of India, in his address, stated that AI can tell us what happened in hundreds of cases and help us see trends that a human being may otherwise miss. However, it cannot determine what ought to happen in the case at hand. He emphasized that certain imperatives must be addressed if AI is to be extensively used in the arbitration process or, for that matter, in any adjudicated process. AI can become a participant but not a decision maker.

Shri R. Venkatramani, Attorney General for India, in his address to law students, envisioned the NFSU as a future global hub of excellence to be celebrated internationally for pioneering achievements. He stressed that skepticism, refutation, and verification are the cornerstones of science, urging students to question, refute, and verify as essential habits of inquiry.

Hon’ble Ms. Justice Sunita Agarwal, Chief Justice of the High Court of Gujarat, congratulated the IDDRC of NFSU for taking the significant step of launching SAMYAK, a portal that stands as a firstofitskind initiative. She emphasized that integrating Artificial Intelligence into legal institutions requires framing clear rules that distinctly separate the functions where AI can be involved from those that must remain within the exclusive domain of human judgment and decisionmaking in adjudicating dispute resolution.

A Inaugural Ceremony was attended by Dr. K.J. Thaker, Chairperson of the Gujarat State Human Rights Commission (GSHRC); Justice Soniaben Gokani, former Chief Justice of the High Court-Gujarat; Justice Dr. A.C. Joshi, former Chief Justice of the High Court-Gujarat; Prof. (Dr.) S.O. Junare, Campus Director, NFSU-Gandhinagar; Shri C.D. Jadeja, Executive Registrar, NFSU; Prof. (Dr.) Purvi Pokhariyal, Campus Director, NFSU-Delhi; Prof. (Dr.) Naveen Kumar Chaudhry, Campus Director, NFSU-Goa; Deans, Associate Deans, and students.
