Building on the momentum of previous regional sessions held in Jaipur, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Ahmedabad, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) successfully organized the fifth roadshow for the Bharat Renewable Energy Summit and Expo 2026 today in Bengaluru. Organized in partnership with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and moderated by the International Solar Alliance (ISA), the event brought Karnataka’s scale in clean energy, technological innovation, and industrial leadership into national focus ahead of the main summit scheduled for November in New Delhi.

Addressing the gathering, Shri K.J. George, Hon’ble Minister of Energy, Government of Karnataka, highlighted that India’s renewable energy transition has evolved into a crucial engine for economic growth, employment generation, and energy security. As the nation crosses 300 GW of non-fossil fuel-based installed capacity toward its 500 GW target by 2030, he emphasized Karnataka’s role as a vital partner in this mission. He cited the Pavagada Solar Park as a successful model of inclusive, community-backed development and invited global investors, developers, and manufacturers to collaborate with the state to accelerate clean energy expansion.

Shri Gaurav Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary, Energy Department, Government of Karnataka, outlined the state’s strategic focus on policy execution, streamlined land leasing, transmission infrastructure strengthening, and proactive industry engagement. He noted that under the Integrated Renewable Energy Policy 2025, Karnataka aims to add 10 GW of capacity by 2027 while leveraging its massive 155 GW potential. He further detailed that Karnataka is actively promoting Green Energy Corridors and Renewable Energy Parks through Public-Private Partnership (PPP) models, alongside an ambitious ₹7.5 lakh crore investment and 20 lakh jobs target embedded within its Industrial Policy 2025–30. Additionally, the state's Energy Conservation Policy aims to deliver 744 MU of energy savings by FY27, while the Clean Mobility Policy 2025–30 seeks to catalyze approximately ₹50,000 crore in investments, thereby strengthening Karnataka's position as a premier destination for clean energy investment and manufacturing.

Shri Santosh Kumar Sarangi, Secretary, Union Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, stated that India’s energy journey is entering a decisive phase focused on building a resilient, integrated, and investment-ready ecosystem. He emphasized that the upcoming flagship summit will prioritize discussions on grid integration, domestic manufacturing across the value chain, round-the-clock renewable power, and long-term capital access.

During the event, Shri Mir Mohammed Ali, Director, MNRE, alongside prominent industry leaders including Mr. Akhilur Rahman of Hitachi Energy India, Mr. Pattiyampully Gopan of Envision Energy India, and Shri Manjunath D.V. of the EMMVEE Group, detailed the strategic objectives, commercial opportunities, and digital engagement platforms available for the upcoming summit.

The Bharat Renewable Energy Summit (BRESE) 2026 is scheduled to be held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, from November 2 to 5, 2026. The summit will run concurrently with the 9th Session of the ISA Assembly and the 4th International Conference on Green Hydrogen. Guided by the central theme "Invest. Innovate. Inspire.", the global platform is expected to gather participants from over 75 countries, featuring more than 400 exhibitors and over 80 curated sessions. Following today's successful event in Bengaluru, the nationwide outreach campaign will proceed to Lucknow and Kolkata in the coming weeks to continue mobilizing regional participation.
