Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), a premier S&T organization under the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), organized the STPI Electropreneur Summit 2026 at IIIT-Delhi. The summit brought together government leadership, academic pioneers, and industry stalwarts to deliberate on expanding India’s Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) footprint.

A key highlight of the event was the launch of the Open Challenge Programme of the STPI Electropreneur Park. The programme seeks to identify and support innovative technology solutions and startups in the ESDM domain. On the occasion, MoUs were exchanged between AIC STPINEXT INITIATIVES and Spoke Centres (11 partner institutions spanning Chandigarh, Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand) as well as investors (Indian Angel Network Services Private Limited (IAN) & Solara VC), to strengthen collaboration and expand the reach of the Electropreneur ecosystem. The EP 2.0 Spoke Centres, which will democratize access to ESDM incubation and enable innovators across the region to access incubation, mentoring, infrastructure and ecosystem support, include ACIC RISE, Association Chandigarh; Engineering College, CEC Landran; NSUT Incubation and Innovation Foundation (NSUT-IIF); KR Mangalam Incubation & Entrepreneurship Centre (KEIC Foundation); Manav Rachna University, Faridabad; IIT Mandi Catalyst; NewGen IEDC–Business and Innovation Centre, University of Kashmir; MNIT Innovation and Incubation Centre (MIIC), MNIT Jaipur; AKGEC Skills Foundation; Sharda Launchpad Federation, Sharda University, Greater Noida; Swami Rama Himalayan University, Dehradun; UPES Council for Innovation & Entrepreneurship (UCIE); and Runway Incubator.

The inaugural session commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp following welcome remarks by Mrs. Vandana Srivastava, Director, STPI-Noida. Prominent ecosystem leaders delivered opening addresses, including Shri Pradeep Gupta, CMD of CyberMedia; Shri Ashok Chandak, President of IESA & SEMI India; and Prof. Sandeep Sen, Director of IIIT-Delhi. 

Delivering the Special Address, Shri K.K. Singh, Joint Secretary, MeitY, highlighted the importance of innovation and entrepreneurship in advancing India’s ESDM ecosystem and spoke about the initiatives being undertaken by the Ministry to support growth in the sector. He said, “India's technology journey is entering a crucial next stage combining our proven global leadership in software with an aggressive push toward Electronic System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) and semiconductors. EP 1.0 laid a strong foundation, nurturing 59 startups, filing 66 patents, and creating over ₹640 crore in startup valuation. With EP 2.0, we are scaling our ambitions to target 500 startups, expanding deep into Tier-II and Tier-III cities so that talent across every corner of the nation can participate in this growth. Our true benchmark for success will be converting this immense talent into commercialized intellectual property and globally competitive products.”

Shri Arvind Kumar, Director General, STPI, in his special address highlighted the objectives of the STPI Electropreneur Summit and the significant transformation in India’s technology and electronics landscape and the growing opportunities for innovators in Deep Tech, AI and Electronic System Design & Manufacturing (ESDM). He said, “Today marks an exciting time for technology in India. Historically, our talent shifted primarily toward software services building a $200B+ export industry while electronics manufacturing lagged. But the landscape has fundamentally changed. Over the past decade, national electronics production grew seven times from under ₹2 lakh crore to over ₹13 lakh crore, while exports surged eleven times to ₹4.24 lakh crore. Speaking about Electropreneur Park, he highlighted its journey and the progress achieved through EP 1.0, which has delivered 129 products, 27 trademarks, 66 patent filings and ₹150 crore in cumulative revenue. Now, with Electropreneur Park 2.0, we are taking this vision to the next level from nurturing 500 startups to building a strong and interconnected ESDM innovation ecosystem across North India. Further, with various other government initiatives i.e. GPU access through the India AI Mission, and the ₹1.275 lakh crore through ISM 2.0 scheme, this is the right time for young innovators to build hardware, design products, and lead global electronics manufacturing.

The afternoon program featured a technical address by Shri S.K. Marwah, Advisor, R&D Electronics Division, MeitY. This set the stage for a panel discussion on "Bridging the Gap: Accelerating ESDM Innovation through Government-Academia-Industry Synergies," moderated by Dr. Anuj Grover, Associate Professor at IIIT-Delhi, along with other panelists Dr. Amjad Hussain, Director - HCIE, SRHU – Dehradun, Shri Rajoo Goel, Secretary General, ELCINA, Shri S.K Marwah, Advisor, R&D Electronics Division, MeitY.

The STPI Electropreneur Summit is a premier initiative by STPI that brings together Electropreneurs, innovators, startups, industry leaders, investors, academia and policymakers to exchange ideas, forge partnerships, unlock opportunities and shape the future of electronics and deep-tech innovation in India. An electropreneur is an entrepreneur who starts, develops, and scales businesses specifically within the electronics and hardware-driven technology sectors.

During the Summit, the Open Challenge Programme (OCP) for the STPI Electropreneur Park was launched, along with the exchange of MoUs with 11 Spoke Centres as well as with investors, including Indian Angel Network Services Private Limited (IAN) and Solara VC.

The Spoke Centres of STPI Electropreneur Park CoE, New Delhi, are partner institutions spanning Chandigarh, Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand that will facilitate extending the reach of the Electropreneur Park and provide incubation support, mentorship, infrastructure and ecosystem access to innovators and startups in their respective regions.
