Sports Authority of India, Netaji Subhas National Institute of Sports (SAI NSNIS), Patiala today officially flagged off its 11-member boxing contingent for the Asian Games 2026, scheduled to be held in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, Japan. The contingent, comprising boxing team, coaches and support staff, departed from the institute campus today to represent the nation at the prestigious Games. The selected 11 boxers trained at SAI NSNIS Patiala are:

Male Boxers: Jadumani Singh Mandengbam [55 Kg], Sachin [60 Kg], Sumit [70 Kg], Ankush [80 Kg], Kapil Pokhariya [90 Kg] and Narender [90+ Kg].

Female Boxers: Sakshi [51 Kg], Preeti [54 Kg], Priya [60 Kg], Parveen [65 Kg] and Lovlina Borgohain [75 Kg].

On the occasion of their departure, Deputy Director General / SED, Shri Vineet Kumar interacted with the contingent and extended his best wishes. Addressing the team, he stated, “The entire nation of India is looking forward to your success and waiting for your medals. We have full confidence in your preparation.

The administration of SAI NSNIS Patiala wishes the entire contingent a successful and medal-winning campaign.
