Cricketer Harishit Rana urges youth to to embrace fitness and stay Drug-Free

Sushri Shobha Karandlaje, Union Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and Labour and Employment inaugurated “Khelo India Samvaad – Khel Ki Baat PM Ke Saath” program today at the Institute for Stem Cell Science and Regenerative Medicine (inStem) in Bengaluru.

Indian international cricketer Shri Harshit Rana also graced the occasion. The program was organized on the occasion of National Sports Day 2026, Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat), functioning under the Department of Youth Affairs, witnessing the enthusiastic participation of approximately 250 youth.
Hon’ble Minister Sushri Shobha interacted with the young participants, engaging deeply with their perspectives, innovative ideas and aspirations for the nation's progress. The discussions during the Yuva Samvaad centered around five core themes, including improving the country's sports ecosystem, nurturing talent for the 2036 Olympics, creating youth leaders to enhance participation in governance, empowering youth for a Viksit Bharat, and promoting a Nasha Mukt Yuva for a Viksit Bharat.

During the interactive session, the young delegates offered suggestions on modernising sports infrastructure, refining early talent identification models, expanding avenues for public governance, equipping the workforce with future-ready skills and fostering drug-free communities. Indian international cricketer Shri Harshit Rana recalling his personal journey on the international sporting stage, highlighted the crucial roles of discipline, fitness, perseverance, and mental fortitude in achieving long-term success. Emphasising the Nasha Mukt Yuva campaign, he urged the youth to stay clear of substance abuse and actively serve as positive role models within their respective communities.
