NFSU is India’s frontline shield against tech‑driven crimes: Dr. Mukesh Mahaling

Dr. Mukesh Mahaling, Hon’ble Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Parliamentary Affairs, and Electronics & Information Technology, Government of Odisha visited National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), Gandhinagar on 22nd August, 2026. Dr. Mukesh Mahaling had an extensive discussion with Prof. (Dr.) S.O. Junare, Campus Director, NFSU-Gandhinagar, addressing multiple areas of Crime Investigation.
He also visited Centres of Excellence in Digital Forensics; Investigative & Forensic Psychology and DNA Forensics.
Dr. Mukesh Mahaling, Hon’ble Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Parliamentary Affairs, and Electronics & Information Technology, Government of Odisha said that inspired by the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and guided by Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah, the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) is undertaking significant initiatives to strengthen the justice delivery system by enhancing conviction rates. After reviewing the advanced facilities at the Gandhinagar campus, the Minister noted that establishing NFSU campuses across all states would create a highly skilled workforce to support judicial processes nationwide. NFSU is shaping a skilled force to strengthen justice delivery nationwide. Standing at the forefront, it will be India’s shield against tech‑driven crimes.
Prof. (Dr.) S.O. Junare, Campus Director-NFSU-Gandhinagar, welcomed the Dr. Mukesh Mahaling Ji with a memento and briefed him about this unique and highly specialized University's activities. He said that under the guidance of Padma Shri, Dr. J.M. Vyas, Vice Chancellor of NFSU, the world's first and only Forensic Sciences University, is strengthening the forensic capabilities in the country and abroad.
