PARLIAMENT QUESTION: CANCER CARE FACILITIES

The Tata Memorial Centre (TMC) under the administrative control of Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) with a mandate to provide comprehensive cancer care to one and all, through its motto of excellence in Service, Education and Research. TMC being a premier cancer centre in the country, provides leadership in guiding the national/international policy and strategy for cancer care.
In order to strengthen cancer care facility TMC has added Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research and Education in Cancer (ACTREC), Kharghar in 2002 with the aim to function as a national hub integrating basic and clinical cancer research with advanced education and patient care. The DAE-TMC considering the prevalence of cancer disease in UP and adjoining States established 394 bedded hospital and upgraded the then “Railway hospital” (Renamed as Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital - 189 bedded) which were dedicated to nation by the Hon’ble Prime Minister.
The TMC has established following facilities for cancer care treatment during the last five years:
