Awareness Session on the Four Labour Codes

An Awareness Session on the Four Labour Codes was conducted on *21 July 2026* at the Canara Bank, Head Office – Centre of Excellence (CCoE), Bengaluru. The interactive programme was held in person for Human Resources team working across India. A total of 87 employees attended the programme physically, comprising officers from Scale II to Scale V, including 11 women employees. Members of the Human Resources and Industrial Relations function actively participated in the session.

The session was addressed by , Deputy Chief Labour Commissioner (Central), Bengaluru, and , Labour Enforcement Officer,* who delivered a comprehensive overview of the New Labour Codes. The speakers explained the objectives of the reforms, the salient features of the Codes, and their implications for employers and employees, with particular emphasis on statutory compliance and effective implementation.

On behalf of Canara Bank, Shri Harish M., Deputy General Manager, Human Resources Management, welcomed the dignitaries and participants and emphasized the Bank's commitment to enhancing awareness of labour law reforms and strengthening statutory compliance through continuous learning initiatives. The programme was presided over by Shri B. P. Jatav, Chief General Manager & Wing Head – Human Resources Management, who highlighted the importance of creating awareness among HR professionals to facilitate the smooth implementation of the new legal framework across the organization.

The session was highly informative and interactive. Participants actively engaged in discussions and sought clarifications on various practical aspects of labour law compliance, making the programme both insightful and beneficial for the attendees.
