TOURISM DEVELOPMENT IN BIHAR

Development of tourism infrastructure, amenities and experiences at tourist destinations is primarily undertaken by the concerned State Government and Union Territory Administration. However, the Ministry of Tourism, under its various schemes such as Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Heritage Augmentation Drive (PRASHAD), Swadesh Darshan (SD), Swadesh Darshan 2.0 (SD2.0), Challenge Based Destination Development (CBDD) provides financial assistance for the development of tourism infrastructure across the country including Bihar.
The details of the funds released and utilized for the projects under the said schemes in Bihar are annexed.
Receiving proposals from the State Governments and Union Territory Administrations for financial assistance for tourism projects is a continuous process. The proposals received are examined with reference to the prescribed guidelines and financial assistance is extended for such projects subject to fulfilment of the stipulated conditions and availability of funds. However, as on date no such major programme to develop tourism in Rohtas district of Bihar has been submitted by the Government of Bihar.
