Taking another significant step towards expanding healthcare services and providing quality medical facilities to Insured Persons, the Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India, inaugurated the ESIC Dispensary & Branch Office, Surendranagar under the Gujarat Region today. The inauguration was carried out by Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Hon'ble Union Minister for Labour & Employment and Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India.

On this occasion, Shri Kunwarjibhai Bavaliya, Hon'ble Minister for Labour, Skill Development & Employment and Rural Development, Government of Gujarat; Shri Kantilal Amrutiya, Hon'ble Minister of State for Labour, Skill Development & Employment and Rural Development, Government of Gujarat; Shri Chandubhai Chhaganbhai Shihora, Hon'ble Member of Parliament, Surendranagar; Smt. Smitaben Rawal, Deputy Mayor, Surendranagar; Shri G. H. Solanki, IAS, Collector & District Magistrate, Surendranagar; Shri Dhanjibhai Patel, Former MLA, Surendranagar; Shri Hemant Kumar Pandey, Regional Director, ESIC, Gujarat; Dr. Vijay Dhanak, State Medical Officer, ESIC, Gujarat; Dr. Monika Patel, Director (State Medical Services), ESIS, Gujarat; Shri Navneetbhai S. Shah, Regional Board Member, along with public representatives, senior ESIC officials, employers, Insured Persons, their family members and other distinguished guests were present.

The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. Thereafter, all distinguished guests were felicitated with bouquets and mementoes. Pension sanction letters relating to Dependants' Benefit and Permanent Disablement Benefit were presented to the beneficiaries. Other insured beneficiaries of ESIC were also honoured during the programme.

In his address, Shri Kunwarjibhai Bavaliya, Hon'ble Minister for Labour, Skill Development & Employment and Rural Development, Government of Gujarat, stated that the commencement of the ESIC Dispensary & Branch Office, Surendranagar would enable Insured Persons and their dependent family members in Surendranagar and nearby areas to receive medical care and various ESIC services more conveniently and efficiently at the local level. He further stated that employers would also benefit from easier access to registration, contribution-related services and other ESIC facilities.

He informed that at present, approximately 9,192 Insured Persons and their dependants in the Surendranagar region are covered under the ESIC Scheme, benefiting nearly 35,000 people through medical care and social security services.

In his address, Shri Kantilal Amrutiya, Hon'ble Minister of State for Labour, Skill Development & Employment and Rural Development, Government of Gujarat, stated that this new ESIC facility is a significant step towards improving the quality of life of workers and their families. He urged employers to bring all eligible employees under the ESIC Scheme and encouraged workers to avail themselves of the various benefits provided under the Scheme.

On the occasion, Shri Chandubhai Chhaganbhai Shihora, Hon'ble Member of Parliament, Surendranagar, expressed his happiness over the inauguration of the ESIC Dispensary & Branch Office, Surendranagar, and welcomed this initiative. He appreciated the efforts of the Government of India and ESIC in providing better healthcare and social security services to workers and their families in the region.

Shri Hemant Kumar Pandey, Regional Director, ESIC, Gujarat, stated in his address that the Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) is one of the country's premier social security organizations providing comprehensive social security to eligible employees in the organized sector and their families. He informed that ESIC provides a wide range of social security benefits, including Medical Benefit, Sickness Benefit, Maternity Benefit, Temporary and Permanent Disablement Benefits, Dependants' Benefit, Funeral Expenses and several other statutory benefits. He also explained the key provisions, objectives, expanded coverage and benefits under the Code on Social Security, 2020, and appealed to employers and Insured Persons to bring all eligible employees under the ambit of social security.

The programme concluded with the presentation of the vote of thanks, expressing sincere gratitude to all the distinguished guests, public representatives, officers, employees, employers, Insured Persons, media representatives and everyone who contributed directly or indirectly towards the successful organization of the event.

Then, at the conclusion of the program, trees were planted in the premises by the honored guests.
