In a significant recognition of its outstanding contribution to humanitarian causes, Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU), Raipur, was conferred a prestigious 'Citation of Honour' by the  Governor of Chhattisgarh, Shri Ramen Deka. The award recognizes the University’s sustained and commendable efforts toward voluntary blood donation and community welfare. The honour was bestowed during a special felicitation ceremony organized by the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Chhattisgarh, on the occasion of World Blood Donor Day. The event held at the Chhattisgarh Mandapam, Lok Bhavan, Raipur. 

Over the years, HNLU has actively promoted voluntary blood donation as a vital life-saving service, successfully fostering a deep sense of social responsibility among its students and staff. Through its Legal and Social Services Committee, headed by Dr. Kaumudhi Challa, and the Pro Bono Club, led by Dr. Parvesh Rajput, the University regularly organizes blood donation camps and awareness campaigns. These initiatives have significantly boosted public health efforts while bridging the gap between academic legal education and societal needs.

The University’s extensive community outreach is guided by the vision of Professor (Dr.) V. C. Vivekanandan, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of HNLU. Professor Vivekanandan has consistently championed the "socialization of legal education," emphasizing that academic excellence must go hand-in-hand with community service to reinforce the role of legal institutions in nation-building.

On behalf of HNLU, Dr. Deepak Kumar Srivastava, Registrar (In-Charge), received the Citation of Honour from the Hon’ble Governor. The ceremony was attended by prominent dignitaries, including Shri M. K. Raut (IAS Retd.), CEO of IRCS Chhattisgarh, and Dr. Rupal Purohit, General Secretary of IRCS Chhattisgarh.

The HNLU fraternity has welcomed this recognition as a powerful affirmation of its enduring commitment to public welfare and humanitarian values. The University has reaffirmed its resolve to scale up its social initiatives, continuing to inspire future generations of legal professionals to embrace civic responsibility and compassionate public service.
