In line with the nationwide agricultural initiative launched today by Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, ICAR–Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Churachandpur officially inaugurated the month-long “Khet Bachao Abhiyan” (Save the Farm Campaign) at New Canan village in Churachandpur district.

The campaign, which will continue until June 30, 2026, is aimed at strengthening the farming community through the promotion of sustainable agricultural practices and improved access to key government welfare schemes.
The inaugural programme was led by Senior Scientist-cum-Head, Dr. Manoj Kumar Pandey, along with KVK officials, who highlighted the major objectives of the campaign. Farmers were sensitized on the balanced and judicious use of fertilizers to safeguard soil health and enhance productivity. The programme also focused on providing timely and location-specific advisories to help farmers effectively respond to emerging weather-related challenges.
Following the directives of the Union Agriculture Minister during his virtual interaction with Krishi Vigyan Kendras across the country, KVK Churachandpur has adopted a multi-dimensional approach for the district-level campaign. Special emphasis is being placed on strengthening participation at the panchayat level and ensuring convergence with line departments to facilitate the effective implementation of flagship agricultural schemes.
The campaign seeks to enhance awareness and outreach of important government initiatives, including the Kisan Credit Card (KCC), PM-KISAN, Crop Insurance Scheme, and Soil Health Card Scheme, ensuring that their benefits reach farmers directly at the village level.

Public participation and grassroots engagement were underscored as key pillars for the success of the campaign. To maximize coverage and impact, KVK Churachandpur has planned a series of district-wide programmes, awareness drives, and localized outreach activities throughout the month, fostering better coordination among stakeholders and extending support to farming communities across the district.
