Inter Media Publicity Coordination Committee (IMPCC) Monthly Meeting Convened at Central Agricultural University

The monthly meeting of the Inter Media Publicity Coordination Committee (IMPCC), Manipur Chapter, was held on Friday at the conference hall of Central Agricultural University (CAU), Lamphel. The meeting was organised by the Press Information Bureau (PIB), Imphal, and hosted by Central Agricultural University (CAU), Lamphel, under the chairmanship of Dr. Engam Pame, IIS, Director, PIB Imphal.
The meeting witnessed active and enthusiastic participation from representatives of various government departments and media organisations, including PIB, the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Doordarshan Kendra (DDK), All India Radio (Akashvani), National Informatics Centre (NIC), National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT),Central Agricultural University Imphal (CAU), ICAR, Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), and the Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development (IBSD),DIPR Manipur, EPFO, Airport Authority of India among others. Their presence reflected a shared commitment towards strengthening coordinated communication efforts in the state.

At the outset, Dr. Engam Pame warmly welcomed all members and expressed his sincere appreciation for their continued participation and cooperation. He highlighted that while numerous impactful activities and initiatives are being undertaken by various departments, many of them do not reach the public effectively due to limited publicity. Stressing the crucial role of media and communication platforms, he urged all departments to actively share their achievements, programmes, and success stories through the IMPCC platform. He emphasised that the committee serves as a bridge between departments and the public, and called for collective efforts to ensure that information reaches citizens in a timely and accessible manner.

During the meeting, representatives from participating departments delivered detailed presentations outlining their key activities and achievements over the past month. These included ongoing projects, awareness campaigns, capacity-building initiatives, and public outreach programmes. Departments also shared their upcoming plans and strategies aimed at enhancing service delivery and public engagement. The presentations provided a comprehensive overview of the developmental efforts being undertaken across sectors.
The deliberations that followed underscored the importance of enhanced interdepartmental coordination and synergy in communication. Members discussed practical ways to improve the visibility of government initiatives through better planning, timely dissemination of information, and effective utilisation of both traditional and digital media platforms. There was a strong consensus on adopting a more integrated and proactive approach to public communication.

Special emphasis was placed on aligning communication strategies with national priorities and effectively conveying flagship programmes and schemes to the public. Members reiterated their shared commitment to contributing towards the vision of Viksit Bharat by ensuring that government initiatives are communicated clearly, accurately, and in a citizen-friendly manner.
The meeting concluded on a positive note with all members reaffirming their dedication to sustained collaboration, regular information sharing, and continuous improvement in communication practices. It was collectively agreed that strengthening the IMPCC platform would play a vital role in building a more transparent, responsive, and citizen-centric communication framework across Manipur.
