Public sector oil marketing companies — Indian Oil Corporation Limited, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited — are coordinating operations and logistics around the clock to ensure the uninterrupted availability of Petrol (MS), Diesel (HSD), and LPG across the state of Telangana.

Despite the sharp increase in fuel demand across various sectors, the supply chain is continuing smoothly. In recent times, there has been a significant increase in demand for petroleum products due to intensified agricultural and harvesting activities as major grain procurement operations are underway in Telangana during May 2026. In addition, retail consumers of other suppliers are increasingly shifting towards public sector retail outlets due to competitive pricing. Institutional and commercial consumers are also preferring public sector retail outlets owing to the price advantage.

During May 2026, fuel sales in Telangana recorded strong growth, with Diesel (Retail) sales increasing by 12.6 percent and Petrol (Retail) sales by 9 percent — significantly higher than the normal growth rate. Five districts in the state recorded more than 25 percent growth in Diesel sales from PSU retail outlets, while 12 districts recorded growth between 15 and 25 percent. During May, OMCs delivered more than 37 lakh domestic LPG cylinders across Telangana.

Public sector oil marketing companies are continuously reviewing stock positions and closely coordinating logistics and distribution planning to effectively meet the increased demand. The oil industry assures consumers that adequate stocks of Petrol, Diesel and LPG are available across the state and that all necessary measures are being taken in constant coordination with the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas and the state administration to maintain uninterrupted and smooth supply.
