The Office of Controller of Communication Accounts (CCA), Andhra Pradesh Circle, Vijayawada celebrated the 135th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar on 13th April 2026.

The event was held to honor the principal architect of the Indian Constitution and to reassert our dedication to his principles of equality, justice, and social empowerment.

The programme commenced with the garlanding of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s portrait by Shri S. Tarachand, Controller of Communication Accounts, and the Guest of Honor Shri Vinod Kumar, GM(Finance), AP Postal Circle, followed by floral tributes from all the staff.

Shri Vinod Kumar, GM PAF, delivered the keynote address. He traced Dr. Ambedkar’s journey from overcoming social discrimination to becoming a visionary leader who shaped modern India’s democratic framework. In his speech, he elaborated on Dr. Ambedkar’s multifaceted contributions: as chief architect of the Constitution ensuring justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity; as a champion of social justice against caste discrimination and untouchability; as an advocate for women’s rights in marriage, property, and employment; as a reformer who introduced progressive labour laws on minimum wages, working hours, and social security; as a proponent of free and compulsory education; as a supporter of marginalized sections through reservations and legal safeguards; as an economic visionary whose ideas influenced institutions like the Reserve Bank of India; and as a staunch advocate of democracy, rule of law, and fundamental rights.

Several employees shared personal reflections on how his ideals continued to inspire integrity and fairness in the workplace. The celebration concluded with all members taking a pledge to uphold constitutional values in their official duties and daily lives. Dr. Ambedkar’s life remains a guiding force for building a just, progressive, and inclusive nation.
