Mumbai, April 1, 2026:
National Thermal Power Corporation’s NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) has achieved a major milestone by surpassing 10 GW of commissioned renewable energy capacity, reaching a total of 10,126 MW on March 31, 2026. This marks a landmark year of expansion for the Group, underscored by the commissioning of 4,225 MW in FY 2025–26, including a remarkable 2,116 MW commissioned in Q4 FY 2025–26.
The 4,225 MW capacity addition during the year includes 2,560 MW from the Khavda Renewable Energy Park, 500 MW from Bhadla, 250 MW from Pavagada, and 250 MW from Kadapa, along with other commissioned projects across various states.
At full generation potential, this capacity is estimated to meet the annual electricity needs of approximately 3.4 million households. In addition, the installed renewable energy capacity is expected to help avoid nearly 15 million tonnes of CO₂ emissions every year, contributing substantially to India’s climate commitments.
In another major strategic development, the NGEL Group has also signed a Green Ammonia Purchase Agreement with Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) on March 30, 2026, for the supply of 70,000 MTPA of Green Ammonia under the SIGHT Scheme of the National Green Hydrogen Mission.
This agreement marks a key milestone in strengthening NGEL’s Green Hydrogen and Green Ammonia portfolio and advancing India’s emerging green molecules ecosystem.
These accomplishments underscore NGEL’s robust growth momentum as the company progresses toward its strategic goal of achieving 60 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2032. NGEL remains firmly committed to accelerating India’s clean energy transition through projects that deliver scale, speed, and reliability.
