Brig Nishant Chandel, DIG, Headquarters 21 Sector Assam Rifles, visited the Integrated Check Post (ICP) at Sabroom on 20 March 2026 to review operational preparedness ahead of its impending operationalization.

During the visit, Mr Premasis Deb, Civil Consultant, ICP Sabroom and other officials from the Land Ports Authority of India (LPAI) briefed the officer on the layout, infrastructure, and functional modalities of the ICP. The DIG also interacted with Border Security Force personnel focusing on security aspects, anticipated challenges post-operationalisation and measures to ensure seamless and secure functioning of the facility. He commended the personnel for their professionalism and boosted their morale.

Strategically located, the ICP at Sabroom is expected to significantly enhance cross-border connectivity and trade with Bangladesh.
