കേന്ദ്രാവിഷ്കൃത പദ്ധതിയായ പരിഷ്കരിച്ച രാഷ്ട്രീയ ഗ്രാം സ്വരാജ് അഭിയാന്റെ പ്രധാന ഭാഗങ്ങളിലൊന്നായ 'പഞ്ചായത്തുകൾക്കുള്ള പ്രോത്സാഹന പദ്ധതി' പ്രകാരം മികച്ച പ്രകടനം കാഴ്ചവെക്കുന്ന പഞ്ചായത്തുകൾക്ക് കേന്ദ്ര പഞ്ചായത്തീരാജ് മന്ത്രാലയം പ്രോത്സാഹനങ്ങൾ നൽകിവരുന്നു. രാജ്യത്ത് മികച്ച പ്രകടനം കാഴ്ചവെക്കുന്ന പഞ്ചായത്തുകൾക്ക് വര്ഷംതോറും ദേശീയതല മത്സരങ്ങൾ സംഘടിപ്പിച്ച് ദേശീയ പഞ്ചായത്ത് പുരസ്കാരങ്ങളും സാമ്പത്തിക പാരിതോഷികങ്ങളും നൽകുന്നു. ദാരിദ്ര്യനിർമാർജനവും ഉപജീവന മാർഗങ്ങളും, ആരോഗ്യം, സ്ത്രീ-ശിശു വികസനം, ജലലഭ്യത, കാലാവസ്ഥാ സംരക്ഷണം, ശുചിത്വപൂര്ണ പരിസരം, അടിസ്ഥാന സൗകര്യ വികസനം, സാമൂഹ്യസുരക്ഷ, പഞ്ചായത്തുകളിലെ സദ്ഭരണം എന്നീ മേഖലകളിലെ സുസ്ഥിര വികസന ലക്ഷ്യങ്ങൾ കൈവരിക്കുന്നതിൽ പഞ്ചായത്തീരാജ് സ്ഥാപനങ്ങളുടെ പ്രകടനം വിലയിരുത്തുന്നതിന് ഈ പുരസ്കാരങ്ങള് നിലവിൽ സുസ്ഥിര വികസന ലക്ഷ്യങ്ങളുടെ പ്രാദേശികവൽക്കരണവുമായി ബന്ധിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. പഞ്ചായത്തിന്റെ തരവും പുരസ്കാര വിഭാഗവുമനുസരിച്ച് 50 ലക്ഷം രൂപ മുതൽ 5 കോടി രൂപ വരെയാണ് മികച്ച പഞ്ചായത്തുകൾക്ക് നൽകുന്ന സാമ്പത്തിക പാരിതോഷികം.
2023, 2024, 2025 വർഷങ്ങളിൽ ദേശീയ പഞ്ചായത്ത് പുരസ്കാരത്തിനർഹമായ പഞ്ചായത്തുകളുടെ പട്ടിക അനുബന്ധം-I-ൽ നൽകിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.
കൂടാതെ സുസ്ഥിര വികസന ലക്ഷ്യങ്ങളുടെ പ്രാദേശികവൽക്കരണം നിര്ണയിക്കാന് ദാരിദ്ര്യനിർമാർജനവും ഉപജീവന മാർഗങ്ങളും, സ്ത്രീ-ശിശു വികസനം, ജലലഭ്യത, കാലാവസ്ഥാ സംരക്ഷണം, ശുചിത്വ പരിസരം, അടിസ്ഥാന സൗകര്യ വികസനം, സാമൂഹ്യ സുരക്ഷ, സദ്ഭരണം എന്നിവയുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട കൃത്യമായ പ്രകടന സൂചകങ്ങളുടെ അടിസ്ഥാനത്തിൽ മന്ത്രാലയം 'പഞ്ചായത്ത് പുരോഗതി സൂചിക’ തയ്യാറാക്കുന്നു. ഈ സൂചിക പ്രകാരം പ്രധാന പ്രകടന സൂചകങ്ങൾ അനുബന്ധം-II-ൽ നൽകിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. പ്രധാന പ്രകടന സൂചകങ്ങളിലെ മികവിന്റെ അടിസ്ഥാനത്തിൽ പഞ്ചായത്തുകളെ റാങ്ക് ചെയ്യുകയും അവരെ വിവിധ വിഭാഗങ്ങളായി തരംതിരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട്.

അച്ചീവേഴ്സ് (പഞ്ചായത്ത് പുരോഗതി സൂചിക സ്കോർ 90 മുതല് 100 വരെ)

ഫ്രണ്ട് റണ്ണേഴ്സ് (പഞ്ചായത്ത് പുരോഗതി സൂചിക സ്കോർ 75 മുതൽ 90-ൽ താഴെ വരെ)

പെർഫോമേഴ്സ് (പഞ്ചായത്ത് പുരോഗതി സൂചിക സ്കോർ 60 മുതൽ 75-ൽ താഴെ വരെ)

ആസ്പിരന്റ്സ് (പഞ്ചായത്ത് പുരോഗതി സൂചിക സ്കോർ 40 മുതൽ 60-ൽ താഴെ വരെ)

ബിഗിനേഴ്സ് (പഞ്ചായത്ത് പുരോഗതി സൂചിക സ്കോർ 0 മുതൽ 40-ൽ താഴെ വരെ)
പഞ്ചാബ് ഉൾപ്പെടെ വിവിധ സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളിലെയും കേന്ദ്രഭരണ പ്രദേശങ്ങളിലെയും ഗ്രാമപഞ്ചായത്തുകളുടെ തരംതിരിച്ച വിവരങ്ങൾ മന്ത്രാലയത്തിന്റെ pai.gov.in എന്ന പോർട്ടലിൽ ലഭ്യമാണ്.
