The Press Information Bureau (PIB) Bengaluru, under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, in association with the Udupi District Administration, Zilla Panchayat, and the Department of Information and Public Relations, is organizing ‘Vartalap,’ a media workshop on Central sponsored Schemes.

The event will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at the Dr. V.S. Acharya Auditorium in Udupi.

The inauguration of the program will take place at 10:30 AM on that day, and Shri Yashpal A. Suvarna, MLA of Udupi, will preside over the function. Shri Kota Shrinivas Poojari, Member of Parliament for Udupi-Chikkamagaluru, and Shri B.Y. Raghavendra, Member of Parliament for Shivamogga, will participate as chief guests, along with the district's MLAs and other public representatives. Special invitees include Shri S.G. Raveendra, Additional Director General, PIB Karnataka; Smt. Swaroopa T.K., Deputy Commissioner of Udupi; Shri Prateek Bayal, CEO of Zilla Panchayat; Shri Hariram Shankar, District Superintendent of Police; and Shri Manjunath B., Assistant Director of the Department of Information and Public Relations.

During the first session of the workshop, Shri Vijay Shyam, District Program Coordinator, will speak on the "Viksit Bharat: G Ram G" scheme. Shri Vijay Anand A.T., Joint Director of the ESIC Sub-Regional Office, Mangaluru, will discuss the New Labour Laws. Dr. Prashant Bhat, District Program Development Officer, will speak on the implementation of Health and Family Welfare schemes, and Shri Narasimha, Superintending Engineer of MESCOM, will provide information on the "PM-Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana".

In the second session, Smt. Anuradha Hadimani, Deputy Director of the Department of Women and Child Development, will share information on the implementation of departmental schemes. Shri Chandrashekhar Naik, Deputy Director of Agriculture, will speak on schemes in the Agriculture and Horticulture sectors, and Shri Harish G., Lead Bank Manager of Udupi, will provide details regarding Financial Security and Economic Empowerment.
