Presentation of CBRI's advanced manufacturing technologies at the Technology and Innovation Conclave 2.0 organised by the Ministry of Earth Sciences in New Delhi. CSIR–Central Building Research Institute, Roorkee, participated in the Technology and Innovation Conclave 2.0, held from January 28-30, 2026, at Prithvi Bhawan, Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India, New Delhi. The conference was jointly organized by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR) of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, and the Asian and Pacific Centre for Transfer of Technology (APCTT) of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN-ESCAP).

The exhibition was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Dr. Jitendra Singh, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology and Earth Sciences, Government of India. Dr. N. Kalaiselvi, Secretary, DSIR and Director General, CSIR, was also present on the occasion.
Following the inauguration, both Dr. Jitendra Singh and Dr. N. Kalaiselvi visited the CSIR-CBRI exhibition stall, where innovative, sustainable, and technology-based solutions developed by CSIR-CBRI in the field of building science and construction were showcased. They viewed the models displayed at the stall, including the 3D-printed rural house developed under PMAY-G and the zig-zag brick kiln technology, and interacted with the scientists from the institute. During their visit, they expressed keen interest in CBRI's technologies and research work related to climate-resilient and sustainable infrastructure. During the inaugural session, Dr. N. Kalaiselvi addressed the attendees. In her address, she spoke about the role of advanced technologies and artificial intelligence in tackling climate change-related challenges and enhancing resilience to disasters.

She highlighted the significant contributions of CSIR laboratories in this regard. She also emphasized the need to translate research findings into useful and practical solutions to promote sustainable development.
As part of the technical program, Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Singh, Chief Scientist at CSIR-CBRI, delivered a lecture on the topic "AI Technologies for Addressing Climate Change: Opportunities and Challenges." He explained how artificial intelligence can be used in planning, inspecting, and managing buildings and infrastructure while considering the impacts of climate change.
He also presented examples of research work being carried out by CBRI in this field and their practical applications.The institute's participation highlighted its unwavering commitment to promoting affordable housing, climate-resilient infrastructure, sustainable rural development, and cutting-edge construction research, further strengthening its alignment with national development goals and global technological advancements.
