Department of Posts celebrated 'Constitution Day' on the 76th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution, by reciting and reading the Preamble of the Constitution

India Post celebrated ‘Constitution Day’ on 26 November 2025 in all post offices and administrative offices of the North Gujarat Region. Postmaster General Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav, at the Regional Office in Ahmedabad, recited and read the Preamble of the Constitution with all the officers and staff on the 76th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution. All officers and staff present repeated the Preamble and expressed their commitment to the ideals and values enshrined in the Constitution.

On this occasion, Postmaster General Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav said that the Constitution is not just a book, it is the guiding force of the nation. This day reminds us not only of our rights but also of our duties. Dr. B. R. Ambedkar and the makers of the Constitution gave us a remarkable document of equality, justice and liberty, which established India as the world’s largest democracy. On this day, we must resolve to always uphold the dignity of the Constitution, our civic duties, and national unity.

Postmaster General Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav further stated that on November 26, 1949, the Constitution of India was adopted, enacted, and voluntarily accepted by the Constituent Assembly. The Constitution was finalized after nearly 2 years, 11 months and 17 days of rigorous efforts. In its original form, the Constitution contained 395 Articles and 8 Schedules with approximately 1,45,000 words, making it the longest national constitution ever written. Later on, the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment issued a notification on November 19, 2015, declaring November 26 to be observed as 'Constitution Day' every year.
On this occasion, Assistant Director Shri V. M. Vahora, Shri Ritul Gandhi, Senior Accounts Officer Ms. Pooja Rathore, Shri Chetan Sain, Assistant Superintendent Shri Jinesh Patel, Shri Ramesh Patel, Shri Ronak Shah, Inspector of Posts Ms. Payal Patel, Ashish Patel, Shri Gauri Shankar Kumawat, along with many other officers and employees, took the oath on Constitution Day.
