The 4th Capacity‑Building Workshop in Vigilance Matters was successfully organized by the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) and the Ministry of Education, Government of India, in association with Sikkim University, on 21 November 2025, Gangtok, Sikkim. The programme aimed to strengthen vigilance awareness, enhance institutional integrity, and promote transparent governance across higher education institutions.

The workshop was graced by Prof. Abhijit Dutta, Vice‑Chancellor (i/c), and Prof. Laxuman Sharma, Registrar (i/c), Sikkim University, who appreciated the initiative and highlighted the importance of ethical governance in academic institutions.

The workshop witnessed participation from a wide range of institutions, including Assam University, Tezpur University, Visva‑Bharati, Guru Ghasidas Central University, Dr. HSG University, Mizoram University, Central University of Odisha, NITTTR Kolkata, NITTTR Chandigarh, NIT Sikkim, NIT Jamshedpur, NIT Arunachal Pradesh, NIT Mizoram, MNIT Jaipur, IIT Bhubaneswar, IIT Guwahati, NERIST Arunachal Pradesh, IIM Shillong, IISER Berhampur, IIIT Guwahati, ICHR, and Rajiv Gandhi University, Arunachal Pradesh.

The sessions were conducted by eminent resource persons from Central Vigilance Commission. Ms. Madhu Sharma, Director, CVC, delivered detailed lectures on the Role and Functions of the CVC, the CVC Act, and Policy Guidelines on Vigilance Administration, with emphasis on vigilance angles and sanctions for prosecution. Shri Pradeep Khatana, Technical Examiner, Central Vigilance Commission, led an interactive session on Procurement, GFR, SOP, and case‑based discussions.

The workshop concluded with an engaging feedback session, reinforcing the commitment of institutions to uphold ethical practices and strengthen vigilance mechanisms.
