Postmaster General Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav said that through India Post Payments Bank, the facility of generating Digital Life Certificates is being provided to Central and State Government pensioners at their doorstep. The Doorstep DLC Service gives special attention to very senior citizens and differently-abled pensioners. This initiative is an important step by the India Post towards strengthening the vision of 'Digital India' and bringing government services to the doorsteps of citizens. Department of Posts is no longer just delivering mail, but also provides digital services at the doorsteps of citizens.
Postmaster General Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav further told that pensioners can avail DLC service by contacting the postman of their area. For this, the pensioner needs to provide their Aadhaar number, mobile number, email ID, bank or Post office savings account number, and PPO number. On completion of the certificate generation process, confirmation SMS will be received by the pensioner’s registered mobile number. The certificate can be viewed online at https://jeevanpramaan.gov.in/ppouser/login after T+1 day and will also be received to their registered email ID. This initiative aims to promote the use of facial authentication and fingerprint biometric authentication technologies, thereby providing convenient services to all pensioners, especially those living in remote areas.
It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, in his Mann Ki Baat address (24 November 2024) and Constitution Day address (26 November 2024), highlighted how initiatives like the Digital Life Certificate under Digital India campaign have simplified the pension process for senior citizens across the country. The Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare (DoPPW) under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions is organizing the nationwide Digital Life Certificate (DLC) Campaign 4.0 from 1st to 30th November 2025. This campaign aligns with the Government’s vision of digital empowerment of pensioners under Digital India, making their lives easier. DLC Campaign 4.0 aims to reach over two crore pensioners in more than 2,000 cities and towns through a saturation-based outreach approach.
Postmaster General Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav said that the Department of Posts is continuously striving to make people’s lives easier through ongoing reforms and citizen-centric innovations. The Digital Life Certificate campaign provides senior citizens with a convenient and prompt service right from their homes, making their lives even more comfortable.
It is worth mentioning that pensioners are generally required to submit their life certificate every year in November or December at the treasury, bank or concerned department. For this, Pensioners residing in remote areas often face difficulties to attend the treasury and it also causes expenditure involved in travelling etc. With this initiative by the Postal Department, pensioners will get great relief. Moreover, pensioners can also withdraw their pension amount from their bank accounts through the Aadhaar Enabled Payment System (AEPS) with the help of the Postman at their doorstep.
