Department of Posts is providing a platform for submission of life certificate in digital mode through India Post Payments Bank. Pensioners of Central/State Government, army pensioners and Employee Provident Fund Pensioners can avail this service at their doorsteps through postal delivery staff.
Every year pensioners are mandated to submit their Annual Life Certificate to receive their pension continuously without interruption. In order to avoid the hassles faced by the pensioners while going in person to submit their life certificate, India Post Payments Bank, which operates under the Department of Posts has arranged to submit their digital life certificate through Jeevan Pramaan using the biometric authentication or Face RD App, with the nominal service charge of Rs.70/-. This service can be availed at their home through doorstep service.
The pensioners can generate their digital life certificate through their area postman by providing details like Aadhaar number, mobile number, PPO number, pension account details and biometric authentication.
In Chennai City Region, more than 3878 postal delivery staff and Gramin Dak Sevaks through 2187 Post Offices in urban and rural areas are being engaged for various door step services like E-KYC Account opening, Cash deposit/withdrawal services, fund transfers, bill payments, issuance of Group accidental policy, loan referrals, Aadhaar mobile number updation, new Aadhaar enrolment for Children below 5 years, Aadhaar Enabled Payment System withdrawals for Direct Benefit Transfers and submission of Digital Life Certificate for Pensioners.
During the last Financial year 2024-25 Chennai City Region had facilitated generation of life certificate for 1,00,408 Pensioners under State and Central Government.
Government of India introduced Digital Life Certificate (Jeevan Pramaan) facility in the year 2014. In order to create awareness among all pensioners, India Post Payments bank under Department of Post and Department of Pension & Pensioners welfare (DOPPW) has organized an awareness program through Postmen. To avail this service, special camps have been organized in all the post offices from 1st November.
The Central/State Government pensioners, army pensioners, EPFO pensioners and all other eligible pensioners are requested to avail the doorstep services provided by the Department of Posts through their area postmen/delivery staff for submitting their Digital Life Certificate. They can also register a service request in http://ccc.cept.gov.in/ServiceRequest/request.aspx or in “Postinfo” app.
