The Vice President of India, Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan, will visit the Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST), Thiruvananthapuram, on November 4, 2025. He will be accompanied by the Governor of Kerala, Shri Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar. The visit will also be attended by Shri Suresh Gopi, Union Minister of State for Petroleum, Natural Gas and Tourism, Government of India, and Shri K. N. Balagopal, Minister for Finance, Government of Kerala.

As part of his visit, the Vice President will inaugurate an exhibition of SCTIMST technologies under the theme “Swavalambi Navotpad – Innovation for Self-Reliance.” The exhibition, organized by the Institute, will showcase its landmark achievements in the field of biomedical research and healthcare innovation.

The exhibition will feature indigenously developed and commercialized medical devices, key initiatives of the Medical, Public Health, and Biomedical Technology wings, as well as pioneering products and start-up ventures nurtured through the TIMed Incubation Centre. These innovations represent the Institute’s commitment to promoting self-reliance in medical technology and addressing the healthcare needs of the nation.

The Vice President’s visit underscores the pivotal role played by Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology in advancing patient care, public health, and biomedical research. The Institute continues to contribute significantly towards developing indigenous medical technologies and strengthening India’s healthcare ecosystem through innovation, research, and collaboration.
