The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), Regional Office, Sriperumbudur, organised an awareness campaign on the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rojgar Yojana (PMVBRY) at Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Chennai Campus.

The programme was led by Sh. K. Sisubalan, Regional Provident Fund Commissioner–II, Sh. Vijay Anand. M, Regional Provident Fund Commissioner–II, Enforcement Officers Sh. R.Elumalai and Sh. Ganapathy and Director of VIT Sh. Sathya Narayanan with enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, and placement officials of VIT.

The campaign aimed to familiarise graduating students and young professionals with the benefits of social security, the features of the PMVBRY scheme, and the importance of early enrolment in the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF).

During the session, the officers explained key aspects of EPF, EPS, and EDLI benefits, UAN activation, e-Nomination, and digital services such as the EPFO Member e-Seva portal and UMANG app. The officials also urged students to verify PF deductions in salary slips and ensure KYC compliance for seamless portability across employments.

The interactive session concluded with a lively Q&A, where participants clarified doubts on withdrawals, interest crediting, and grievance redressal. The placement cell of VIT appreciated EPFO’s outreach initiative and assured cooperation in spreading social security awareness among students.

The programme reinforced the message that “Social Security is a lifelong companion that begins with the first job.”
