Shri Sanjeev Chopra, Secretary, Department of Food and Public Distribution (DFPD), Government of India, held a review meeting today in Kolkata, with the officers of the Department of Food and Civil Supplies, Government of West Bengal. The meeting was also attended by Flt. Lt. Manoj Kumar Gogoi (Retd.), Executive Director, Food Corporation of India (FCI), Zonal Office (East), along with senior officers from FCI and the Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC).

During the review meeting, Secretary Shri Chopra assessed the progress of implementation of various schemes and programmes of the Department of Food and Public Distribution, including those aimed at ensuring efficient foodgrain procurement, storage, and distribution.

The meeting also underlined the Government of India’s commitment to ensuring that all food distribution and welfare schemes are implemented effectively for the benefit of citizens.
