National Institute of Technology (NIT) Raipur successfully organized an online dual webinar on Robotics and Financial Planning. The event, hosted by the institute’s ROBOTiX Club in collaboration with the Finance and Consulting Club (FCC), was conducted under the initiative of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) as part of World Investor Week 2025. The sessions featured distinguished speakers — Mr. Pushkar Shinde, Robotics Engineer, and Mr. Tanuj Poddar, Financial Expert — who shared valuable insights with participants.

The first session, conducted by the ROBOTiX Club, focused on “Robotic Arm Simulation using ROS-2 Humble and Gazebo.” Mr. Pushkar Shinde, a Robotics Engineer with a Master’s degree from New York University and two years of professional experience, introduced participants to the fundamental concepts of the Robotic Operating System (ROS 2) and Gazebo — describing them as the “brain” and “virtual universe” of robots. He explained the Sense–Think–Act loop, PID control, and Robotic Process Automation (RPA), while emphasizing the importance of programming languages like Python and C++, along with Linux, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and embedded systems in automation. Encouraging students to explore open-source technologies, Mr. Shinde advised them to begin their robotics journey with ROS 2. His interactive approach and willingness to address every student query made the session both engaging and informative.

The second session, jointly conducted by the ROBOTiX Club and the Finance and Consulting Club, centered on “Financial Planning and Financial Frauds.” Organized under SEBI’s International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) World Investor Week 2025 and sponsored by the National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL) — India’s oldest and largest depository — the session was led by financial expert Mr. Tanuj Poddar. He provided a comprehensive overview of different types of securities, highlighting the stability of government securities as reliable investment options. Mr. Poddar stressed the importance of financial literacy, elaborating on the benefits of disciplined investing and the need to stay vigilant against fraudulent schemes. Through real-world case studies, he sensitized participants to the risks of financial scams.
An interactive question–answer segment and a creative bingo-style educational activity with prizes added an engaging dimension to the session. Concluding the event, Mr. Poddar urged young investors to adopt prudent investment practices and focus on building a secure and financially stable future.
