Press Information Bureau (PIB) and Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Guwahati today organised a comprehensive cleanliness drive in the premises of the Doordarshan Kendra Complex as part of the “Ek Din Ek Ghanta Ek Saath: Nationwide Voluntary Shramdaan” initiative. The campaign is focused on cleaning, sanitation, and upkeep of surroundings with an emphasis on sustainable environment and well-being of all employees and stakeholders.

Led by Shri Kripa Shankar Yadav, Additional Director General, the drive witnessed enthusiastic participation of officers and staff who cleaned drains, parking areas, and open spaces within the complex.

Adding a creative dimension to the initiative, a football match themed on Swachhta was organised. Here, waste was symbolically represented as the “ball,” while participants formed a wall to prevent it from entering their surroundings and worked collectively towards removing and reducing it.

With this, PIB and CBC Guwahati marked another milestone under the ongoing ‘Swachhata Hi Seva – 2025’ campaign. The activities aimed at promoting a culture of cleanliness, hygiene, and discipline in the workplace while highlighting the power of collective effort. The initiative also resonated with this year’s theme of connecting the festive spirit of the nation with the vision of a cleaner India.
