Mega Financial Inclusion Camp Held at Melli Under 3-Month Saturation Campaign
Mega Camp at Melli witnesses enthusiastic participation, with focus on social security schemes

As part of the 3-Month Saturation Campaign launched by the Department of Financial Services (DFS), Government of India, a Mega Camp was organized by the State Bank of India (SBI), the SLBC Convenor Bank for Sikkim, at Melli on September 3, 2025. The camp, attended by 363 participants from Melli and adjoining areas, aimed to promote financial inclusion and awareness among the local population.

The event was graced by MLA, Melli, Shri Nar Bahadur Pradhan as the Chief Guest. Other distinguished dignitaries present at the camp included Shri T. Jamang, Regional Director, RBI; Shri Surinder Kumar, Under Secretary to GoI, DFS; Shri Teekam Singh Gehlot, General Manager, SBI; Shri Prashant Kumar Singh, Deputy General Manager, SBI; and Shri Mahendra Pradhan, Director (Finance).
During the camp, a total of 85 participants completed their Re-KYC formalities, while 85 and 66 participants enrolled under the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) and Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) schemes, respectively.

The camp is part of the government's broader mission to promote last-mile financial empowerment and strengthen socio-economic inclusion by providing access to formal financial services. The 3-month campaign, launched on July 1, 2025, aims to ensure comprehensive coverage of schemes such as the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY), PMJJBY, PMSBY, and Atal Pension Yojana (APY) across all Gram Panchayats (GPs) and Urban Local Bodies (ULBs). Additionally, these camps educate citizens on safe banking practices and offer facilities to update KYC and nominations in pending accounts.
The next Mega Camp under this campaign is being held at Ranka today, September 4, 2025.
