The Department of Ophthalmology, AIIMS Bhopal, organized a National Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme on 31st August 2025 as part of the National Eye Donation Fortnight. The programme was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) Madhabananda Kar, Executive Director, AIIMS Bhopal, in the presence of distinguished guests including Dr. Prabhakar Tiwari, Dr. Nichlani, and Dr. Lalit Srivastava. The CME featured renowned experts in ophthalmology who shared their knowledge and experience. Dr. Chindan Malhotra (PGI Chandigarh) delivered an insightful session on penetrating keratoplasty, transplantation, and cross-linking. Dr. Neha Chaturvedi presented on steroid-induced glaucoma, while Dr. Prerna Upadhyay spoke on the management of chemical burns and ocular trauma. These sessions enriched participants with valuable perspectives on the latest advancements in eye care and vision restoration.

Postgraduate students, interns, and faculty members of the institute actively participated, making the event interactive and knowledge-driven. A quiz competition held at the conclusion of the programme added enthusiasm, with attractive prizes distributed to the winners. The National CME not only served as a scientific platform for exchanging ideas but also worked as a significant step in spreading awareness on the importance of eye donation. By motivating more people to pledge their eyes, the programme emphasized AIIMS Bhopal’s commitment to strengthening public health and contributing to the noble cause of restoring sight to the needy.
