As part of the three-month nation-wide saturation campaign of financial inclusion schemes launched by the Department of Financial Services, Government of India, a camp was conducted by the State-level Bankers’ Committee (SLBC), Goa, at Querim Village Panchayat, Ponda Taluka in South Goa on 11.08.2025.
The camp, conducted for maximising the coverage of Jansuraksha Schemes such as PMJDY, PMJJBY, PMSBY, APY and re-verification of KYC, was attended by Shri Govind Gaude, MLA of Priol Constituency.

While addressing the gathering, Shri Gaude urged the villagers to opt for the insurance and pension schemes of the Government. “I appreciate the SLBC for conducting camps like this as people in the remote areas get an opportunity for enrolling for the schemes and also to update their KYC which is very important,” he said.
Shri Arnab Kumar Chowdhury, Executive Director, RBI, highlighted the RBI’s role for promoting financial inclusion at the grass root level and enhancing financial awareness. He explained the importance of KYC and re-KYC in simple terms and appealed to the villagers to complete their re-KYC to ensure seamless delivery of banking services. This will also help in receiving the DBT transfers online, he said.
Shri Prabhakar Jha, Regional Director, RBI, urged the gathering to avail benefits of the schemes and also stressed upon cyber security to prevent digital frauds. He requested the participants to make use of the customer grievance cells in the banks.

Shri Carlos Rodrigues, AGM, SBI, welcomed the dignitaries while Shri Shailendra Mishra, DGM, SBI, presented vote of thanks.
Shri Sandeep Dharkar, General Manager, NABARD; Shri Kunal Singh, Regional Head, IOB, Shri Ananat Chodankar, MD, GSCB, and Senior officials of the RBI and other banks were present at the event.
The camp witnessed an overwhelming response from the villagers as many villagers enrolled for the schemes and completed their re-KYC.
