The SAIL Level Management and Business Quiz (MBQ) 2025, comprising the three flagship categories, ‘Saksham’, ‘Samarth’, and ‘Samriddhi’, held at Bhilai Niwas of Bhilai Steel Plant concluded on 6th August 2025. A total of 34 two-member teams from various SAIL units are participating in this year’s quiz across the three categories.

Shri A. K. Chakraborty, ED (MM); Shri Pawan Kumar, ED (HR); Shri Bipin Kumar Giri, ED (Mines) and Shri G.Ojha, Former Director (Personnel – SAIL), presided over the Valedictory Function. Senior Officials, including CGMs, GMs and other officials from Bhilai Steel Plant,were also present on this occasion.

The finale of the Samriddhi category for executives saw Ms. Divya Dash, AGM, RSP and Ms. Rosalin Dash, Sr. Manager, RSP clinch the first rank, while the second rank was secured by SomyaKhati, Manager, BSL and Ankita Dev, Sr. Manager, BSL, followed by Priyanka Raj Gupta, JEA, BSP and Priyanka MadhuriSahu, JEA, BSP in third place. In the Samarth category, designed for non-executives, the first rank was bagged by Durga Prasad, OCT, BSL and NayanChakrabortty, OCT, BSL; the second rank went to RanjanGoswami, JEA, BSP and SurajPratap, JEA, BSP, while Saikat Mandal, Engg. Associate, ISP and Loknath Mishra, OCT(T), ISP secured the third rank. The Sakshamcategory for senior-level executives witnessed intense competition, with participants from RSP Sampad Mishra and Abhishek Mishra, AM, bagging the first prize, while Vikas Kumar, SM, Abhilash Sharma, SM from ISP Stood second and the third position was bagged by NiveshVijayan SM, and UmeshMalayath, AGM from BSP respectively. Winners in the respective catagories were felicitated by dignitaries.

Present dignitaries expressed delight that BSP has a strong quizzing tradition, and the first Management Quiz Bonanza was held here in 1998. They stated that quizzing is a powerful tool for learning and appreciated the participation of 34 teams from various SAIL plants and units, reflecting the organisation’s growing learning culture. Congratulating all participants, dignitaries stated that while prizes would be awarded, there were no losers, as everyone reaching this stage was already a winner, and he called upon all to keep learning and growing together to take SAIL to greater heights.

Distinguished panel of quizmasters: Shri. Umesh Kamath, former Head (HR Alliances Tech.), Shri. SPS Jaggi, former Director (Shipping Corporation of India) and former ED (SAIL), and Shri. Jacob Kurian, former GM &HoD (LA&PR, BSP), who conducted sessions of the SAIL Level MBQ 2025,were also felicitated on this occasion.

The valedictory function was compered by Ms. ShaliniChaurasiya, Dy. Mgr. (HR Steel), while Shri. S.K. Shrivastava, GM I/c (HR L&D) proposed a Vote of Thanks.
