A step aimed at environmental rejuvenation and employee engagement, the newly developed Karanj Kunj Garden at Sinter Plant-3 (SP-3) of SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant was inaugurated . The garden has been dedicated to Shri R.K. Randive, AGM (SP-3), in recognition of his exemplary leadership and substantial contributions to the Plant’s progress.

The inauguration ceremony witnessed the presence of Shri Anup Kumar Dutt, CGM I/c (SPs), and Shri Sajeev Varghese, CGM (SP-3), along with several senior officials and personnel. Once a neglected and underutilised patch of land, the site has now been transformed into a lush green retreat, offering employees a peaceful environment for relaxation and rejuvenation.

The transformation involved a well-coordinated series of steps, including installation of protective railings and fencing, ground levelling, and development of an approach road. LD slag paver blocks were laid for beautification, new saplings were planted, and the peripheral greenery was significantly enhanced. Today, this serene garden provides a refreshing break-time space for nearly 100–150 employees every day, contributing positively to workplace morale and ambience.

Further reinforcing the spirit of innovation and inclusivity, SP-3 also hosted its first-ever monthly birthday celebration for officers at the work site, marking a unique cultural milestone. The event was held after office hours at the Sinter Screen Building of Sinter Machine-2, an area formerly known for its dusty and unkempt condition. Owing to the sustained efforts led by Shri R.K. Randive and his dedicated team, the housekeeping standards of the facility were significantly uplifted, converting it into a dignified venue for departmental gatherings.

The event saw enthusiastic participation from both executives and non-executives and has set a positive precedent for organising similar functions at the plant site in the near future.
