In a significant step towards enhancing the utilization of Aadhaar for governance and public welfare, the UIDAI State Office Ahmedabad and the Department of Information Technology, UT  Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu, jointly organized a workshop titled "Deriving Maximum Impact Out of Aadhaar" at the Government Engineering College Auditorium, Daman, on June 12, 2025.

 The workshop was inaugurated by Shri Amit Singla, IAS, Hon’ble Advisor to Administrator, UT of DNH & DD.

The workshop saw the participation of distinguished senior officials of UT, including Shri Amit Singla, IAS, Hon’ble Advisor, UT of DNH & DD, Shri Devendra Kumar, Director DBT Mission, Government of India, Shri Vinod Singh Director, UIDAI Head office, Shri Rajesh Kumar Gupta, Director, UIDAI State Office Ahmedabad, and Shri Lovekesh Thakur, DDG, UIDAI Regional Office Mumbai.

The workshop covered many topics such as recent initiatives and key developments in Aadhaar usage, the process of notifying schemes under Section 7 and Section 4(4)(b)(ii) of the Aadhaar Act, onboarding of AUA/KUA/Sub-AUA/Sub-KUA, legal provisions of the Aadhaar Act, implementation of Aadhaar in the UT of DNH & DD, Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), success stories of other states, and Aadhaar-based digital payments.

Esteemed speakers from UIDAI Head office, National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), DBT Mission, Government of India, and the Department of Science & Technology, Government of Gujarat, shared insights and best practices.  UIDAI RO Mumbai facilitated the Best performing Operators/ Supervisors during the  workshop.

In addition to the workshop, a UIDIC (UID Implementation Committee) meeting was convened under the chairmanship of the Advisor to the Hon’ble Administrator, DNH & DD, Shri Amit Singla, IAS, on June 12, 2025, at 11:45 AM in the Conference Hall, Sachivalaya, Daman. All the senior officers of different departments and secretory of UT DNH&DD was present in the meeting.  Aadhaar progress and future planning was discussed in presence of UIDAI, DBT mission, NPCI officers.

Meeting underscores UIDAI’s commitment to strengthening its regional operations and ensuring seamless delivery of Aadhaar-related services across the country. Discussions held to emphasized the importance of continued efficiency and innovation in serving the citizens of UT DNH&DD.
