Press Information Bureau Kohima, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, today organized a press conference to highlight the upcoming World Audio-Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025, to be held in Mumbai from May 1 to 4.

Addressing the media at the conference hall of the Kohima Press Club, Assistant Director of PIB Kohima, K Sonikumar Singh emphasized that WAVES 2025 is set to become a premier international platform where young creators, innovators, and stakeholders from across India and the globe will converge to explore and showcase opportunities in the audio-visual and entertainment sector.

 

He highlighted that the summit will not only serve as a global meeting point for the entertainment industries but also provide valuable career opportunities, skill development avenues, and international exposure for youths. He said the summit will showcase the culture, heritage, history and other tangible assets of India through story-telling in the medium of modern technologies including AI, comics, animations, films, social media etc.

Singh further encouraged aspiring talents from Nagaland and the North East to actively participate and leverage the platform to connect with industry leaders and global audiences. The Assistant Director also urged the local media to spread awareness about WAVES 2025, stressing the importance of increased representation from the North East’s vibrant creative community at national and international forums.
