Idashisha Nongrang, IPS (DG Meghalaya Police), in the kind presence of Dr. Jasbirkaur Thadhani, Dean Academics, RRU; Mr. Bhawani Singh Rathod, Director I/c, SISSP, RRU; Shri Dalton P. Jubi Momin, IPS (DIG Admin); Shri Vivek Syiem, IPS (SP, East Khasi Hills); and Shri Lakador Syiem, IPS (Principal Meghalaya Police Academy).

Under this pact, both institutions will mutually provide all kinds of support for the officials from their respective institutions. Under this, the university will provide teaching, research, education, and consultancy to the Meghalaya Police as per their requirements, whereas the students from the university will get the opportunity for their internship and workshop at the Meghalaya Police.

Meghalaya Police will also provide an opportunity for the teaching and non-teaching staff of RRU to visit their places to learn their training pattern and classroom activities live. This Memorandum of Understanding will open avenues for both institutions where they can broaden the avenue for learning.

This collaboration aims to enhance the capabilities of law enforcement personnel through advanced educational methodologies and practical experiences. By leveraging each other's strengths, RRU and Meghalaya Police are committed to fostering a culture of continuous improvement in internal security practices. The partnership reflects a commitment to fostering academic excellence while addressing contemporary challenges in public safety and security.

The partnership is expected to yield significant benefits not only for the participating institutions but also for community safety and security in Meghalaya. Both institutions are enthusiastic about this new chapter in their relationship and look forward to fruitful engagements that will contribute positively to society.

The MoU outlines several key initiatives designed to enhance the educational framework for students pursuing careers in law enforcement. Among these initiatives are structured internship programs that will provide students with real-time experience in policing environments, allowing them to apply theoretical knowledge in practical settings.

Furthermore, the partnership seeks to enrich the existing course curriculum by integrating insights from field practices and addressing contemporary policing challenges. This approach ensures that students are well-prepared to meet the demands of modern law enforcement.

Joint efforts will also focus on developing and implementing SMART policing training modules, which align with the broader objectives of Mission Karmayogi capacity-building initiatives. These training programs will specifically address newly introduced criminal laws, equipping future police officers with the necessary skills and knowledge to navigate evolving legal landscapes.

This strategic partnership aspires to build a more skilled, informed, and future-ready police force in India. By emphasizing professionalization and technology integration within policing practices, RRU and Meghalaya Police are committed to advancing the standards of law enforcement across the region.

Prof. (Dr.) Bimal N. Patel emphasized that this agreement is a significant step towards integrating modern policing techniques with local practices, thereby ensuring that law enforcement agencies are better equipped to handle contemporary challenges in security.

Smt. Idashisha Nongrang expressed her optimism regarding the partnership, highlighting the importance of such collaborations in strengthening police operations and community relations in Meghalaya. She reiterated her commitment to ensuring that the Meghalaya Police receive comprehensive support from RRU.

Both institutions are optimistic about the future outcomes of this partnership and are committed to implementing various initiatives that will benefit not only their respective organizations but also the communities they serve.
