ZERO WASTE FEST organized by the Centre for Environment Education (CEE) under its project AmdaVadmA, in collaboration with The Planet Discovery Centre and sustainability partner India Recyclers, the event commemorated the International Day of Zero Waste on 6th April 2025 at the CEE Campus in Ahmedabad. Centred around the theme "Towards Zero Waste in Fashion and Textiles," the initiative was designed to highlight the pressing need to address waste generation in the fashion and textile sector and to promote sustainable, circular practices. The event brought together more than 300 citizens in a collective effort to reimagine waste as a resource and promote sustainable lifestyles.

Participants actively engaged in donating and swapping gently used clothing and accessories, enabling reuse and redistribution. The collected items were carefully sorted into categories to cater to diverse community needs. In doing so, the initiative reinforced the circular economy model while supporting the needs of underserved sections of society.

Aligned with the United Nations’ call to action for zero-waste societies, the event emphasized collective responsibility in addressing the global waste crisis. Through hands-on experiences and community engagement, CEE continues to advance its mission of promoting environmental sustainability and responsible living.

Together, we can redefine waste—not as a burden, but as a shared opportunity to build a healthier, more sustainable planet.
